A quick look at Dildos and Dongs and what is the difference. Apart from the saying “Everything is a dildo if you are brave enough” there is actually a difference between Dildos and Dongs
Dildos.
Generally they have all the characteristics of a real penis, including, and this is the important bit, something like a scrotum or balls at the base. They will normally have a suction cup at the bottom too.
Dongs.
Dongs also look like a real penis, often with veins that are exaggerated to create extra sensation. They have a suction cup at the base but are missing the balls.
Uses.
Both are designed to create pleasure by penetration, generally speaking they are not used for clitoral stimulation, but of course there are exceptions to every rule and everyone is different. The material used is normally Skin safe silicone which has the advantage of being soft and smooth to the touch. Silicone is used extensively in sex toys, it is exceptionally easy to clean and does not present any chemical toxicity, It also adapts to body temperature quite rapidly.
Both can be used as a strap on, but dongs must have a proper fitted holding ring of used for anal play. Dildos are the preferred choice for anal play, the balls create a wider base which makes them the safer option. The anus has a way of just making things disappear, and it is wise to avoid a trip to the hospital.
So the basic difference is Balls. All dongs are dildos, but not all dildos are dongs.
